The 2014 local government elections will be held November 15, 2014.  New provincial legislation extends the term of office from 3 to 4 years starting with the 2014 election.  The next local election will be held October 2018.


The packages include the necessary forms for nomination and information for potential candidates.  A nomination deposit is not necessary to run for Mayor or Council.  Candidates are required to have 2 qualified nominators sign their nomination.  Completed forms must be returned to the Village Officer during the nomination period.

Nomination Period:  9:00 am Tuesday, September 30, 2014 to 4:00 pm Friday, October 10, 2014


Other Important dates for the 2014 Election:

Declaration of Candidates:  4:00 pm Friday, October 10, 2014 
Last Day to Withdraw Candidacy:  Friday, October 17, 2014
Advance Voting Day:  Wednesday, November 5, 2014  from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm at the Village Office
General Voting Day:  Saturday, November 15, 2014  8:00 am to 8:00 pm at the Victory Hall

The Village is currently recruiting people to work at the election.  It is important to note that a member of the election staff CANNOT be involved in any candidate's campaign AND CANNOT be involved in any capacity with any of the candidates (nominator, agent, relative, spouse, supporter etc).  Deadline for application is:  September 2, 2014.
