Near the completion of a real estate transaction, agents for either the purchaser or seller of a property may submit a Tax Search Request to obtain information about the property tax status prior to completing the transaction.
While this information can be provided verbally to property owners free of charge, the property transaction process usually requires an indication of the property tax status on the exact date of closing, and a Tax Search Request provides the necessary documentation.
The cost for processing a Tax Search Request is $30.00, payable within 30 days of the completed Tax Search.
You can begin the process by either visiting the Village Office to obtain a submission form or by downloading the form below. You will need to install the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (available free) to use this file.
This form is fillable .pdf and can be saved once completed. You can submit your completed form by emailing it to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, by faxing a copy to (250) 499-5477, or by mailing or delivering a copy to the Village Office. Please ensure you provide your current contact information so you can be notified once the tax search has been prepared.
