The Village of Keremeos encompasses two square kilometers in B.C.'s beautufil Similkameen Valley, 30 minutes south of the city of Penticton and the airport, and approximately 4 hours from the greater Vancouver area. Keremeos is on the boundary of Canada's Sonoran Desert and is the wstern gateway to interior wine country.
Keremeos' housing remains very affordable, and the Village contains schools, parks, a medical clinic and hospital, care facilities, a grocery store, drug store and pharmacy, restaurants, pub and liquor store, and several fresh fruit and vegetable stands. Year round recreation is nearby within walking and biking trails, skiing (Apex), hunting, fishing and tubing on the Similkameen River.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Public Works Manager is a member of the management team with overall responsibility for the Village's buildings, wastewater treatment plant, sanitary collection system, streets, parks, cemetery, equipment, fleet and oversight of three Labourer II positions. The Public Works Manager will maintain the strategic plan, develop annual work plans, maintain the Village's asset management system, prepare and monitor annual operating budgets, and prepare and present reports to Council.
The Village offers an excellent benefits package with a starting salary of $70,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
