The Public Works Department is responsible for a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Tree pruning, tree removal in parks
  • Cemetery maintenance
  • Roads, streets, sidewalks and pathways
  • Snow and ice control on public streets
  • Street sweeping, paving and patching
  • Traffic signs, line painting
  • Parks
  • Sanitary sewer system
  • Storm sewers
  • Irrigation systems on Village property
  • Municipal buildings
  • Catch basins, manhole repairs
  • Hydrant and valve maintenance

Please note that residents are responsible for the maintenance of the portion of alleyways and boulevards abutting their properties. Policy

The Village of Keremeos has undertaken a three-stage Liquid Waste Management Plan to ensure continued protection of public health and the environment through proper management of wastewater discharges in the community.
