The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is seeking the approval of electors within the boundaries of the RDOS for the adoption of Bylaw No. 3106, 2025.

THE VILLAGE OF KEREMEOS IS WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE RDOS.

The bylaw is to authorize the RDOS to borrow up to 10 million ($10,000,000.00) to purchase a Corporate Building within the City of Penticton.  The borrowing amount will be repaid over a period not exceeding thirty (30) years.

As the adoption of the bylaw will affect property taxes of property owners within the RDOS, including those within the Village of Keremeos, the RDOS has provided for the Alternative Approval Process.  Electors who are opposed to the bylaw may submit Elector Response Forms to the RDOS by 4:30 pm, July 31, 2025.  If 10% of the qualified electors object to the adoption of the bylaw, the RDOS Board of Directors cannot adopt the bylaw without going to a referendum.

Only those opposed are to submit the Elector Response Forms.

If you have any questions on the proposed bylaw, the Alternative Approval Process, or voter eligibility, please contact RDOS Legislative Services at 250-492-0237 or refer to https://rdosregionalconnections.ca/alternative-approval-process

Information, including Elector Response Forms,  is also available at the Village Office, 702 4th Street, Keremeos, Monday to Thursdays, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
