No recycling blue bags after July 1, 2020

Jun 4 2020
By: Keremeos Admin

Residents are reminded that recycling blue bags will no longer be accepted curbside after July 1, 2020. Recycling containers must be supplied by residents and marked as recyclables. The Village Office in Keremeos has free "RECYCLE ONLY" stickers for your containers, if you need them.

The RDOS has produced a short video outlining the new requirements.

NEED TO BUY NEW CONTAINER? Many stores that sell garbage cans or recycling bins are restocking after being sold out. Look online for different makes and models of bins. Some stores also allow you to purchase online for instore pickup. They will notify you when it arrives.

WANT TO RENT ROLLING CARTS? Contact Waste Connections of Canada at 250-490-3888 or toll free 1-866-998-4888 for pricing for rental of large, rolling carts.

Call the Village Office at 250-499-2711 if you have questions.

Following closures due to COVID 19, the Village of Keremeos has now reopened the Village Office and park playgrounds, outdoor exercise equipment and public washrooms.

Please note that only one visitor at a time will be allowed at the public counter in the municipal office, so that social distancing may be practiced.

Park washroom hours are 7am to 7pm. Despite our efforts to clean, the Village cannot guarantee that every office, park and public surface is sanitized. It is strongly recommended that those using public amenities utilize sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer.

We thank you for your patience during the closures and look forward to seeing you all again!
