BC Restart Plan

The Village of Keremeos is looking forward to welcome visitors back to our beautiful area as part of Phase 3 of the BC Restart Plan. As businesses and governments in the Similkameen expect an increase in visitors and tourism activities, we would like everybody to be mindful of the fact that BC has reached this stage by following provincial health guidelines.

Please enjoy our beautiful valley but continue to observe these basic rules:

  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Stay home if you feel unwell

Should you develop symptoms please self–isolate immediately and call 811 for further instructions.

Before you start your journey make sure that there are procedures in place at your destination to protect you and your family from Covid-19.

Local updates are available on the Village of Keremeos website at keremeos.ca

Residents are reminded that recycling blue bags will no longer be accepted curbside after July 1, 2020. Recycling containers must be supplied by residents and marked as recyclables. The Village Office in Keremeos has free "RECYCLE ONLY" stickers for your containers, if you need them.

The RDOS has produced a short video outlining the new requirements.

NEED TO BUY NEW CONTAINER? Many stores that sell garbage cans or recycling bins are restocking after being sold out. Look online for different makes and models of bins. Some stores also allow you to purchase online for instore pickup. They will notify you when it arrives.

WANT TO RENT ROLLING CARTS? Contact Waste Connections of Canada at 250-490-3888 or toll free 1-866-998-4888 for pricing for rental of large, rolling carts.

Call the Village Office at 250-499-2711 if you have questions.
