Climate change and COVID-19 mental health impact study

Aug 25 2021

The Lower Similkameen Community Services Society is partnering with UBC to invite community members to participate in a study called Mental Health, Climate Change Events, and COVID-19. The study seeks to better understand the impacts of climate change events such as wildfires, flooding, smoke, and COVID-19 on the mental health of people living in rural communities in BC. The data collected from the survey will be summarized and used to create community actions together at a community dialogue session.

Residents may take part by completing a short online survey, by uploading such items as photos, drawings, stories, poems, and collages related to climate change events, COVID-19, and mental health, or by participating in an interview online through UBC Zoom (about 30-60 minutes).

More information on how to participate in the study can be found here. The study will conclude on September 30, 2021.
